CASW day four - Environmental awareness & hazard reporting

Working in an airport atmosphere may expose you to many different types of hazards. This is why a keen awareness of your work space is important in protecting the safety of yourself, colleagues, guests and environment. The fourth Canadian Airport Safety Week (CASW) topic will include discussions on how Canada’s airports are committed to being leaders in environmental protection through spill control and reporting, glycol management, air quality and waste and recycling.

Some examples of YYC’s environmental goals are:

  • Reduce water usage
  • Prevent spills
  • Increase use of renewable energy
  • Improve air quality
  • Reduce waste generation
  • Support our economy by procuring local and ethical products
