Electrical work continues at YYC

ENMAX is bringing a crane to install a 13.2 KV Switch and Switch Gear east of the Services Building on Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 10 p.m. to Wednesday, August 28 at 2 a.m. (four hours).

The road to the Airport Corporate Centre (ACC) west loading dock will be blocked during these hours. One lane will be open to the ACC while crew is mobilizing the crane.

Once the crane is set up and operational, the road to the ACC building and ACC parking lot will be closed for about 45 minutes to lift the switch and unload it on the concrete pad. During this time (projected time is around midnight to 12:45 a.m.), there will be no access to and from the ACC.

To provide safety for crew and all commuters, YYC escorts will monitor access in and out of ACC.

The installation of this new DTB high-speed transfer switch will bring the airport more reliable power. Click here for more background information about the electrical work being done at the airport.
