Sept. 23 update: Winner Announced! 7-Eleven’s grand opening and a giveaway!

Sept. 23 update: Our lucky winner has been drawn and notified. Thanks to everyone who participated!

We are so excited that 7-Eleven is finally open at YYC and based on the feedback we’ve received since doors opened, we know you are too! What makes the arrival of 7-Eleven to our airport extra special is the fact that the first Slurpee ever poured in Canada was right here in Calgary in 1969.

With the 50th anniversary of the Slurpee this year, well, we feel this new budding relationship was just meant to be.

In celebration of 7-Eleven’s arrival we are having a party (well….technically a grand opening event but with the amount of things going on that day, we promise you it will feel more like a party).

Here are the details:

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 26

Where: 7-Eleven in Arrivals A and C

Who’s invited: Everyone! YYC Crew, Team YYC and Guests

What kind of fun you can expect: Fresh 7-Eleven hot food, Hershey and Red Bull samples, a prize wheel, surprise & delights for our guests and wait for it….FREE Slurpees and coffee all day long. There will be an official ribbon cutting (and a Slurpee toast to commemorate the first Slurpee being poured at YYC) at their Arrivals A store at noon.

In anticipation of 7-Eleven’s grand opening event we are giving away one $50 7-Eleven gift card. To enter, simply answer this trivia question in the comments below. One lucky winner will randomly be drawn on Sept. 23 at noon. Open to YYC Crew and Team YYC.  Good luck!

Question: What is the scientific name for brain freeze (aka the sensation you get when drinking a Slurpee too fast)?

*One entry per person. One name will randomly be drawn from all responses received on teamyyc.com and the HUB at noon on September 23, 2019. Winner will be announced in the comments on September 23, 2019 by 1230pm.
