West runway rehabilitation project receives $57.5 million from the Government of Canada

We’d like to thank the federal government for their investment in the west runway rehabilitation project, a critical piece of YYC infrastructure. The project will take two to three years to complete and create 200 to 300 jobs for Albertans.

We’ve been planning for the project since 2019 and have consulted with NAV Canada, our valued airlines partners, land tenants and other impacted stakeholders in preparation. Now, we’re shovel-ready.

Being an urban airport, within a city, we continue to engage with our neighbours and communities throughout the project, while balancing the demands of keeping YYC moving for the economic benefit of our community.

We appreciate the federal government’s willingness to consider our request for funding.
