Together, we welcomed 18.9 million passengers to YYC in 2024!

YYC soared to new heights in 2024, welcoming 18.9 million passengers - our highest number ever! This marks a 2.2 per cent increase over 2023, reinforcing YYC’s position as a leading hub for travellers and businesses alike. Our continued growth and success is a testament to our partnerships and the dedication of our Crew and Team YYC.

What drove this record-breaking year?

• A higher load factor (or seat occupancy rate) of 87.7 per cent as more travellers chose YYC.
• Airlines increasing seat capacity, including flying larger aircraft on key routes.
• The launch of five new destinations, expanding options for guests.

We should be incredibly proud of this milestone and the growth we saw in 2024. In addition to welcoming 18.9 million passengers through the terminal, our airline partners also launched routes to five new non-stop destinations to Seoul, Reykjavik (via Keflavik), Charlotte, Tulum and Deer Lake, completed phases one through four of the West Runway Rehabilitation project, and launched a new website and initiatives aimed at improving the guest experience – just to name a few things we all did in 2024! And all of this in light of some significant challenges, including saying goodbye to Lynx Air in February, labour disruptions over the busy summer travel season, water shortages, and of course the hailstorm in August.

As we look ahead, 2025 promises exciting developments and opportunities. We’re investing in infrastructure, technology and guest experience enhancements to support our future growth.
