Name: Joyce Andrechuk
Shift: Monday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

How long have you been volunteering at YYC?
19 years

Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I’m a mother of three and grandmother of four. Besides here, I volunteer at the Kirby Center and Women’s Health Resources. I have travelled quite extensively including places such as Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, Costa Rica, USA and Mexico.

What is your favorite thing about your shift at YYC?
THE PEOPLE! I like the people I work with, the people at the airport and the people passing through. I just like people.

What has been the highlight of volunteering at YYC?
A young woman had a medical emergency when she got off of her flight. As a grandmother, it was rewarding to help her by looking after her baby. Those present noted that I must be a grandmother judging by the way I handled the baby.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I like to read, knit, spend time with family and friends, watch movies and just socialize with people.
