Did you know that Calgary CATSA screening officer Tehseer is also a stand-up comedian and actor? Or that screening officer Olumayowa is a professional singer in his spare time?
The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority has launched a new campaign called the Real People series. The campaign showcases that screening officers are dedicated, talented professionals with unique interests and stories.
The campaign launched in April at Vancouver International Airport and Halifax Stanfield International Airport. The series features banners of screening officers in each of Canada’s eight busiest airports, along with videos, a social media campaign, and website. 48 officers are featured in the campaign, including six from YYC.
The campaign’s message is “Real people. Real passion. Dedicated to your security.”
The series run for a full year, with new banners unveiling at the airport every two months, along with videos and social media posts.
The first screening officer being featured at YYC is Riyaz, a faith leader and community volunteer. You can visit CATSA’s Facebook and Twitter feed for Riyaz’s profile video and social-media post, or go to the dedicated page on CATSA’s website, catsa-acsta.gc.ca/real-people-series.
