Honouring our heroes – YYC commemorates Remembrance Day

The Calgary Airport Authority will host a Remembrance Day ceremony to observe and give thanks to our nation’s veterans on Sunday, November 11. Travellers and employees alike will have a chance to pay tribute at 10:45 a.m. at a ceremony held in the International Terminal on Arrivals (near Bistro on the Bow).

The ceremony begins with the formation of the Calgary International Pipe Band followed by the Honour Guard, comprised of members of the Calgary Police Service, RCMP, Calgary Fire Department, Calgary Emergency Medical Services, Royal Air Force, British Army, British Air Force, Canadian Corp of Commissionaires, Royal Canadian Air Cadets, Canada Border Services Agency and the United States Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection.

Commemorating those who have given their lives will be guest speaker Michael Hayward, our VP Marketing and Guest Experience and the master of ceremonies - Constable Mike Bertin (Retired).

If your friends or family wish to attend - please note that parking will be complimentary for the event; although we ask if you currently have a YYC parking spot to please park in your designated spot. To read the full advisory, click here.
