Construction in YYC's Banff Hall starting February

Starting Feb. 25, Banff Hall (the seating area near Montana’s) is under construction. Air Canada and WestJet staff often direct passengers who have lengthy layovers to Banff Hall's comfortable seating areas. As of Feb. 25, guests can be redirected to Kananaskis Hall (the seating area that’s close to Kelsey’s and Security Gate A) or to the food court, upstairs. The relaxing furnishings that are currently in Banff Hall will be moved to other common seating areas. For example, we are relocating about 30 of the chairs from Banff hall to the hallways by Ora oxygen, the old medical clinic and Montana’s.

The Calgary Airport Authority is continuously upgrading and renovating sections of the airport to better serve our guests and our partners. As part of these upgrades, Banff Hall will be transformed into two innovative, new spaces. Elements of this plan were shared last year. Since then, a contractor has been selected and planning has been further refined. The outcomes of the upgrade include:

  1. Part of the space will be an experience lab for testing new, innovative airport-related ideas and technologies to see how they might apply to YYC.
  2. The rest of the space will be converted to much-needed flexible work space for staff (YYC Crew).

Construction is expected to be complete by the end of April.

We are committed to minimizing disruption to our guests and partners as much as possible. Construction is primarily scheduled during the day and activities that we know will be significantly noisy will be scheduled after 10 p.m.
