CASW: Aviation Security
Creating awareness of security concerns at YYC is very important and includes what to do in the event of an active assailant and threat risk assessment training. With more than 17 million guests forecasted to travel through YYC in 2019, and approximately 150 million guests across airports in Canada, it’s important we work together to maintain secure operations at the airport.

- Active Assailant Presentation (9 a.m. in the Tutor Room and 1:30 p.m. in ACC Executive Boardroom)
- TRA classroom training (9 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Silver Dart)
- BBQ set up in front of the Airport Corporate Centre (ACC)

- Partners organizations: ASP/AAI and CPS Tactical Unit, Police Explosive Technicians
- Discussion topic: Unattended baggage response and expectations and who to call.
- Interactive station: Explosive Trace Detection Device
This is the fourth year The Calgary Airport Authority is teaming up with 28 other airports to celebrate Canadian Airports Safety Week (CASW), from June 17-21. We’re running events each day to raise awareness about the importance of safety.
