CASW: FOD Free Friday

Did you know that the smallest items of loose debris such as pens, baggage locks or screws have the potential to cause serious safety risks to an airplane and runway operations? You may also be surprised to learn that the cost to repair a Foreign Object Debris (FOD) damaged aircraft engine can easily exceed $1 million dollars. So if you See Something and can’t remove it yourself, Say Something.

Cap off Safety Week and learn about FOD prevention while walking on the aprons, followed by a pizza party for participants over at Signature Aviation. Transportation will be provided.

Maximum of 50 spots are available, so sign up click here.

Who: Team YYC (first 50 to sign up)
When: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Where: Apron I adjacent to Gate 51 and the Ground Load Bussing area

This event is a collaboration between the Authority’s Safety Crew, Air Terminal Services and Signature Aviation.

PPE is required – Hi-Vis Vest and closed toed shoes.

This is the fourth year The Calgary Airport Authority is teaming up with 28 other airports to celebrate Canadian Airports Safety Week (CASW), from June 17-21. We’re running events each day to raise awareness about the importance of safety.
