Orbis Plane Pull for Sight

What could be more fun than pulling a 50-tonne FedEx 757 Cargo Plane down a runway? Answer: Pulling a 60-tonne FedEx Cargo Plane down a runway. Let’s pull together and join the Orbis Plane Pull for Sight! We need 20 people to join our Team YYC Plane Pull team to help fight avoidable blindness.

Orbis is an international non-profit that fights avoidable blindness by training eye care teams, strengthening eye health systems and working on the ground to provide lasting solutions to communities in need.

When: Saturday, June 16, 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

What:  Pull a 60-tonne FedEx 757 Cargo Plane a set distance, in the least amount of time. There is a $20 per-puller registration fee, and a commitment to raise an additional $30. The Airport Authority is matching what our team raises to a maximum of $1,000.

Where: FedEx Ramp, Calgary International Airport, 24 Aero Dr NE, Calgary, AB T2E 8Z9

Why: Because 80 per cent of people who face blindness suffer conditions that could be prevented, treated or cured and 90 per cent of all visually impaired people — 253 million people — live in places where it can be difficult to get the right treatment. Supporting the Orbis plane pull means helping people get access to lifesaving treatment.

Join Team YYC’s Plane Pull team and find out more at pullforsight.ca. Let’s help Orbis reach its goal of $230,000 to fight unnecessary blindness.
