New Testing Requirements for Arriving International Guests

Summary: An update on the recently announced pre-departure COVID testing requirements.

Starting tonight at 9:59 p.m. MST, all international travellers five years of age and older arriving into Canada must obtain a negative COVID-19 test result prior to boarding their aircraft—this includes all Canadian citizens. This test must be obtained in the international destination the traveller is currently in and must be taken within 72 hours prior to their scheduled departure to Canada. More information is available on the Government of Canada’s website.

The International Border Testing Pilot Program will continue at YYC. Eligible travellers who choose to participate in the pilot program still must obtain a negative COVID test prior to arriving at our airport.

We’ve made updates to the testing and FAQ sections of our #FlyHealthyYYC page to reflect these requirements. We also have social media updates planned to help keep guests informed.
