Changes to the International Border Testing Pilot Program

Summary: The Government of Alberta has updated quarantine requirements around the pilot program, effective immediately.

Yesterday, the Government of Alberta announced changes to the International Border Testing Pilot Program at YYC. Effective immediately, all guests are required to stay in quarantine until they receive a second, negative COVID test, performed seven to eight days after their first test at YYC.

While guests may leave quarantine after receiving their second negative test, they are not allowed to attend at school, daycare or workplace outside the home until after 14 days.

This change will affect those guests currently participating in the program and they will be contacted by Alberta Health Services for direction.

Our priority is the safety and security of our guests, staff and the public. We have been supporting the Alberta border pilot program and we are optimistic the data from the program will help inform future decisions and nation-wide testing programs. For more information about the changes, please visit alberta.ca/borderpilot.
